EIS Interpretation Support
Support offered through LD Teck for EIS interpretation:
The EIS Software is very simple to operate and in many clinics technicians are responsible for the actual testing procedure. The results can then be emailed, printed or made available on the local computer network for the licenced practitioner. To help with the interpretation of the patient data the licenced practitioner can export their test and email this to the staff of LD Teck to help with case consultation. The import/export feature (HIPPA compliant) of the EIS Software has proved to be remarkable for peer reviewed case consultation opportunities.
In designing the EIS System, the idea was to make the interpretation of the results as simple as possible. The analysis component of the EIS System has a two-fold ultimate goal: Illustrating the algorithms calculated by the inverses' problems resulting from the clinical trials in an easy-to-read manner. And, displaying the biochemical results in the form of organ synthesis according to a specific chromatology corresponding to certain functional measurements. A functional risk analysis is also possible with The EIS System in the form of easy to read bar graphs. The results displayed on the EIS System will have a certain color indicating physiological tissue parameters. When using The EIS System and interpreting the data please take note of the following:
1) The results obtained by the EIS examination are not used to:
- Imperatively confirm the diagnosis of structure (imagery).
- Imperatively confirm the diagnosis of blood (laboratory tests) established by other examinations.
Instead The EIS System offers new and exciting data contained within the interstitial fluid level. Each medical examination has its own specificities; The EIS System analyzes the total function of the organs via the interstitial fluid with its specificities and provides information which one can extract from the examination. However just like laboratory tests, the interpretation of the EIS System thus requires adequate medical knowledge and a list of variables which can modify/influence the results.
2) Modeling with the EIS System represents the functioning of the organ as well as the interstitial fluid which traverses them.
This non invasive and fast examination, evaluated within the clinical context, makes it possible for the licenced practitioner to gain a functional assessment and not an exhaustive medical diagnosis. The EIS System establishes an organic functional evaluation making it possible to visualize therapeutic control and to analyze the statistical functional risk. If a pathology does not affect the total functioning of an organ, the EIS System may not detect it, contrary to imagery systems. This is why an examination with the EIS System is considered a pre screening examination. A negative EIS examination does not mean that the patient does not present any pathology, but rather the EIS System will indicate that the organ as a whole is still functioning. The optimal use of tests is based not only on comparing a result with reference values but it also requires a definition of the physiological limits. This covers 95% of healthy subjects. Therefore test interpretation requires available adequate references and a list of variables which can modify the results. The physiological limits of decision making fluctuate with the objectives:
- Diagnosis made patient follow up diseases concerned
- Possible therapies
- Prevalence
They are therefore based on current scientific and medical knowledge.
3) Reproducability and stability of results.
With the body functions being undulatory, the fundamental principals of physiology, can apply perfectly to an EIS examination and make it possible to understand the modifications which occur during successive recordings or with several hours interval. These variations will also apply to the laboratory tests.
These variations depend on:
- Reflections in the inaccuracy of the method used which is estimated by analyzing the test several times.
- Intra-individual variation estimated by repeating the examination on the same person.
- Inter-individual variation estimated by using the mean values for several people influenced by variables such as age and gender.
- Specificity and sensitivity.
